Choosing classes for the Exploratory program at CU Boulder can feel daunting. With over 3,000 undergraduate courses to choose from, how do you know which ones are right for you?

Choosing a Major
The first step is to choose a major. This doesn’t have to be your final decision, but it’s helpful to have a general idea of what you want to study.
CU Boulder offers over 150 undergraduate majors. To explore your options, visit the Office of Undergraduate Admissions website. You can also attend a virtual or in-person campus tour.
Once you’ve chosen a major, you can start looking for classes.
Finding Classes
The next step is to find classes that fit your interests. You can do this by browsing the course catalog.
You can also use the Class Search tool to search for classes by keyword, subject, or instructor.
Once you’ve found some classes that you’re interested in, you can start adding them to your shopping cart.
Adding Classes
To add a class to your shopping cart, click on the “Add to Cart” button. You can then view your shopping cart by clicking on the “Shopping Cart” link in the top right corner of the screen.
Once you’ve added all of the classes you want to take, you can click on the “Submit Cart” button. This will submit your class selections to the registrar’s office.
Waitlists
If a class is full, you can add yourself to the waitlist. If a spot opens up, you will be notified by email.
You can also check the waitlist status to see how many people are ahead of you on the waitlist.
Dropping Classes
If you decide that you don’t want to take a class, you can drop it by clicking on the “Drop” button in the course catalog. You can also drop a class by visiting the registrar’s office.
