Donna Jordan, a beloved resident of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away peacefully at her home on January 15, 2023, at the age of 75. Her passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community she cherished.
Life in Grants Pass
Donna was born and raised in Grants Pass, where she spent the majority of her life. She attended local schools and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1965. After graduation, she met and married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Jordan. Together, they had two children, David and Kristin.
Donna dedicated her life to her family and her community. She was a loving wife and mother, always putting their needs before her own. She was also an active member of the Grants Pass community, volunteering her time to various organizations, including the Grants Pass Lions Club and the Josephine County Historical Society.
A Passion for History
Throughout her life, Donna had a deep passion for history. She was an avid reader and spent countless hours exploring the rich history of her hometown and the surrounding area. She loved to share her knowledge with others, especially children, and often gave presentations at local schools and historical events.
One of Donna’s most significant contributions to the local community was her work on the Grants Pass Historical Foundation. She served as a board member for over 20 years and was instrumental in preserving and promoting the history of Grants Pass. Her efforts helped to establish the Grants Pass Museum, which has become a valuable resource for residents and visitors alike.
A Legacy of Love and Service
Donna will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her dedication to her community, and her passion for history. She lived a life filled with purpose and meaning, and her legacy will continue to inspire others for generations to come.
Surviving Family Members
Donna is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Jordan; her children, David Jordan (Sarah) and Kristin Jordan-Smith (Michael); and her grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, and Sophia Jordan. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas West (Linda), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Public Memorial Service
A public memorial service will be held in Donna’s honor on February 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Grants Pass United Methodist Church. The service will be followed by a reception at the church.
