Introduction
Ole Miss Panhellenic is the governing body for all National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities at the University of Mississippi. NPC sororities are social and service organizations that provide women with opportunities for leadership, friendship, and personal growth.

History of Ole Miss Panhellenic
The first NPC sorority at Ole Miss was Alpha Chi Omega, which was founded in 1897. Other sororities soon followed, and by the early 1900s, there were several NPC sororities on campus.
In 1922, the Panhellenic Association was formed to coordinate the activities of the different sororities. The Panhellenic Association later became known as Ole Miss Panhellenic.
Membership
Ole Miss Panhellenic is open to all women who are enrolled as full-time students at the University of Mississippi. To join a sorority, women must go through a process called recruitment.
Recruitment is a competitive process that typically takes place during the fall semester. Women who are interested in joining a sorority submit a registration form and participate in a series of events called “rush.”
During rush, women have the opportunity to meet members of different sororities and learn about their values and traditions. They also have the chance to ask questions and get to know the members better.
At the end of rush, women receive invitations to join a sorority. They then have the opportunity to accept or decline the invitation.
