How to Become an Electrical Engineer
If you want to become an electrical engineer, you will need to earn a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university. Once you have earned your degree, you will need to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. After you have passed the FE exam, you will become an Engineer-in-Training (EIT). You will then need to gain 4 years of experience under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer (PE). Once you have gained 4 years of experience, you will be eligible to take the Professional Engineer (PE) exam. If you pass the PE exam, you will become a licensed professional engineer.
