Wichita State University (WSU) is a public research university located in Wichita, Kansas. The university was founded in 1895 as Fairmount College and became Wichita State University in 1964. WSU offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs to over 15,000 students. The university is home to a number of research centers and institutes, including the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) and the Center for Combating Human Trafficking.

Directions to Wichita State University
WSU is located in the heart of Wichita, just a few blocks from downtown. The university is easily accessible by car, public transportation, or bike.
By Car:
- From I-35, take exit 12 (Kellogg Avenue) and head east.
- Turn left onto 17th Street and then right onto Fairmount Street.
- WSU will be on your left.
By Public Transportation:
- Take the Wichita Transit bus route 1 or 4 to the WSU campus.
- The campus is also served by the WSU Shocker Shuttle, which provides free transportation to and from the campus.
By Bike:
- WSU is located on a number of bike trails, making it easy to bike to campus.
- There are also a number of bike racks located throughout the campus.
Visiting Wichita State University
WSU offers a variety of tours and events for visitors. Tours are available Monday through Friday and are led by current WSU students. Visitors can also attend a variety of events on campus, including lectures, concerts, and sporting events.

- Tours start in the Visitor Center, which is located in the Rhatigan Student Center.
